South Beach Diet: A Sad Update

image found here

I forgot to update, so I figured I would let you all know- THIS IS NOT AN EASY DIET.  I mean, I have pretty good self-control, but eliminating sugar did nothing at all for my mood.  Which, um, slightly lessened my self-control abilities.  My awesome and supportive mother (who functioned as personal therapist this week, THANK YOU MOM) tried very patiently to convince me that after the first week, it is easier.  But let me tell you- we did not make it that far.  Five days was about all I could do, and then on July 4 I had pizza and coke- my favorite meal in the world.  Saturday was worse.  Since then I have been trying to do better.  But I think for now, the total elimination of sugar and bread is out of the picture.

At least until grad school is over.  Or I stop loving pizza and soda.

Don't leave me alone in my guilt- Someone encourage me with success stories, please!

I Caved to the Diet Trend

Image from here

How was everyone's weekend?

I actually got some much-needed rest myself, and got a few things accomplished.  (Not including the homework that I should have been accomplishing.)  Coming this week if I am good: Final making of the Save the Dates, Pictures from Lindsey's Wedding, and Photography Love!

In the meantime (read as: I am at work and really need to catch up on the reading before class at 4:45), I will tell you about The Diet.

I am not so much a fan of dieting- I would rather long-term change my eating habits.  But as I have been saying that for two years now and not actually getting anywhere, Ryan and I decided to try the South Beach Diet.  We determined that something drastic was in order.

So far, Ryan keeps calling me and telling me he hates me (we agreed to it, I promise, I am not abusive!!!!!) and I am doing pretty well.  I am a big carb lover (pasta, pizza, bread of all kinds = my loves) but my favorite food is basically cheese, which I can still have in its friendly low-fat form.  The biggest thing I am missing right this minute: Coca-cola, because when I know I can't have it, I crave it like it's my job!!!  So for now I am trying to distract myself and eat lots of vegetables.

Sigh.

Anyone else jumping on the dieting trend bandwagon?  Share your successes!

I dragged Ryan to Michaels tonight to use my coupon, and I am now the proud owner of this:

You can not imagine my excitement!  I made another invitation mock-up just to show Ryan how it worked.  I think he is hiding in fear of the crafts that are taking over the apartment...

In other random news, I ripped a very inappropriate hole in my fat jeans tonight.  It appears that fate is kindly suggesting I hit the gym and lay off the pizza only diet.  I'll be sure to let everyone know how that goes, lol.

Thoughts on creative ways to use the Xyron before I start making my invitations?
